Last week my friends and I decided to explore Haeundae Beach! As one of the most popular tourist attractions in Busan, there’s a lot to do in the area! We spent the whole day there and still weren’t able to fully experience everything Haeundae has to offer.
First we started our day by attending one of the plays “The Queen’s Banquet”, It is an absolutely stunning display of traditional music, dance and dress. The play is performed almost every day from June 1st to December 30th and is definitely worth seeing! After the show there is a chance to meet the performers outside, so make sure to stop and say hello!
As well as the stunning beaches, Haeundae is also home to some of the best markets and street food in Busan! Off the main promenade are multiple little streets filled with family owned restaurants and street food stalls! If you are ever in the area, I urge you to check some of them out!
Later that night we ventured to the beach. We brought some snacks, drinks, a portable speaker and blankets. It’s a great place to relax after a long day. There are usually special performances or festivals held on the beach so it’s worth checking online before you go.
If you go on the weekends you will find the beach is full of street performers, game stalls and people taking in the night views!
Next to the beach there is a small seafood market. Here you can try a multitude of Busan’s best seafood, ranging from san-nakji (“live” octopus) to raw fish! Even if, like me, you aren’t a fan of seafood, it’s a great place to experience the natural atmosphere of Busan!
